Death by family values.

Lonnie Squires knows that if they’d warned her about this in seminary, she’d have remembered.

One little day of perfection-it hadn’t seemed much to ask.  Scrub up Middelburg’s Episcopal church to look morally and conservatively upright for the town’s Family Values Day celebration.  Impress the ultra-conservative software king who might quarter his company in Middelburg.  Because her rabid devotion to soccer has pumped up Lonnie’s coaching skills, she takes on this assignment  from the Bishop and looks forward to enjoying the Wentelteefjes and Olliebollen of her old summer home.  And it’s not as if her girlfriend will miss her.

Politicos, parishioners, and the general populace all want a piece of the action-and of her, if anything goes wrong.  And everything seems as sweet as almond banket until the crusading reporter intent on exposing the secrets of those behind Family Values Day turns up dead, and Lonnie’s one little day turns into one big nightmare.

What secrets would someone kill to protect?

Is anyone who they really seem?

And most of all, which of the upright citizens of Middelburg now wants Lonnie dead as well?
